Security
The next steps in our security upgrades plan are as follows:
1. A new keyless, biometric front door entry system has been ordered and will be installed in the next month. This system will allow the entire school to remain locked at all times, only allowing entry to those people who have registered fingerprints in the system. O'Hara parents, staff and coaches will be given access and entry hours can be set for different groups of people. This is a very exciting step forward in improving the safety of our building for our students & staff.
2. Upon the recommendation of the Eugene Police Department, we would like to install a second set of doors in our lobby that will create a barrier between the front doors and the main hallway. The new door system we are looking at is made specifically for schools and is bulletproof. An artists rendering of the new entry is in progress and will be available soon so parents and staff can view the upcoming changes.
3. Also this summer, we would like to install additional security cameras to increase our safety and visibility of the school building and campus.
The cost estimate for the above projects is $50,000; we already have a very generous $10,000 donation toward the project and will apply for a $10,000 safety grant from the Archdiocese in the spring. Any money raised beyond $30,000 will be earmarked for future and additional security upgrades including new doors in the cafeteria and additional security sensors in our building.

Scholarship
Last year, O'Hara granted over $130,000 in tuition assistance to families seeking a Catholic education for their student(s). It is our desire that no family should be denied the opportunity of an O'Hara education because of a lack of financial resources.
